We are hiring a Employee Benefits Manager for our growing team!  The Employee Benefits Manager will be responsible for managing the administration of the company’s employee benefits program. This role will serve as the primary point of contact for our employees, vendors, and will lead operational efforts such as new enrollments, changes to employee elections, bi-weekly and monthly reconciliations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the company’s Employee Benefit program, including but not limited to, enrolling, and removing benefit coverage, educating employees about the available benefits, and ensuring that proper set up is completed and accurate for processing.
  • Administer benefit information and advises employees of eligibility with application information and employee self-service portal for completion and submission.
  • Interface with broker and benefit providers via telephone, email and online portals. 
  • Communicate with insurance brokers and other benefit partner staff to address concerns and troubleshoot issues.
  • Responsible for reviewing and reconciling monthly invoices from multiple benefit provider partners ensuring accuracy in billing and services provided.
  • Processes necessary paperwork and workflow to maintain regulatory requirements such as COBRA, FMLA, ADA, etc.
  • Manages leave of absence requests from employees including processing proper documents related to FMLA, STD, etc.
  • Monitors unemployment claims by reviewing and processing required paperwork expeditiously and keeping VP of Human Resources abreast of progress in claims. 
  • Ensures that personnel files and other employee-related information is maintained accurately and securely

Key Experience and Education Needed:

  • Bachelor's degree in in Human Resources Management, business or related field
  • Previous Human Resources and Benefits related experience
  • Experience with self-funded benefit plans and ERISA
  • Previous experience with benefit plan design and implementation
  • Certification as a Human Resources Professional by industry-specific accrediting body preferred. SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, etc…

Other Qualifications to be Considered:

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong numeracy and analytical skills.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Experience with Sage 300 and Excel preferred.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Attention to detail and organization a must.
  • Ability to prioritize work- and work-related responsibilities.
  • Ability to coordinate and manage multiple tasks with attention to detail. 
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle crisis situations in a calm and supportive manner
  • Ability to exhibit professional and courteous behavior, consistent with the ARC mission statement, when interacting with persons of varying backgrounds and education levels to create a safe and healthy relationship with clients served 
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to read detailed health records 
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 10 lbs.
  • Ability to operate computer and other equipment in the office
  • Must have sufficient mobility to move around the office and the community
