We are hiring an Accounts Receivable Accountant for our growing team! The Accounts Receivable Accountant is responsible for day-to-day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, and recording accounts receivables’ data. The Accounts Receivable Accountant also manages invoicing and record keeping for various state and federal grant programs, working closely with nonprofit partners.

Key Responsibilities

  •  Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, and recording accounts receivables’ data
  • Bill KORE and UNITE treatment vouchers and monthly stipends
  • Working in partnership with nonprofit Odyssey, Inc., manage SNAP program, including billing and record keep in adherence with Federal guidelines
  • Post EFT, cash, checks and credit card payments into Sage 300
  • Reconcile Medicaid and Commercial Insurance payments
  • Issue invoices to customers
  • Record cash receipts and make bank deposits
  • Process remote deposits
  • Maintain the petty cash fund
  • Record and maintain transactions related to donations
  • Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
  • Ensure deadlines are met for month end close
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality related to financial and client information
  • Participate in staff and state regulatory training as required
  • Adhere to program policies and procedures while maintaining a professional code of ethics.

Key Experience and Education Needed:

  • Associates Degree in Accounting or Related Field Preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software as required to complete and maintain records.
  • Ability to perform and analyze various system checks.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of recovery principles and recovery driven service system
  • Knowledge and experience with Sage 300 and Excel
  • Knowledge and experience with GAAP
  • Strong numeracy and analytical skills
  • Highly organized and detail orientated
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Ability to manage time appropriately
  • Ability to meet deadlines and adhere to schedules
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle crisis situations in a calm and supportive manner
  • Ability to exhibit professional and courteous behavior, consistent with the ARC mission statement, when interacting with persons of varying backgrounds and education levels to create a safe and healthy relationship with clients served 

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the facilities.
  • Must be able to access all parts of the company equipment.
