Key Responsibilities:
- Works with team members to resolve challenges and receive training and support.
- Demonstrates the ability to deal with patients and insurance companies
- Identifies billing and insurance coverage problems and communicate with the Billing Manager and Utilization review.
- Assists with logistical and/or clerical problem resolution related to the patient’s medical records, authorization and billing issues.
- Pre-verify benefits and eligibility for all HMO, PPO, Commercial, and Medicaid insurances for all old and new patients/clients.
- Contact insurance companies by telephone to verify benefits.
- Entering the patient’s benefits information in KIPU CRM Software and assigning it to the appropriate Intake Coordinator.
- Monitor all incoming faxes and disturbed them to the appropriate people
- Input authorization information in the appropriate patient’s chart that is received via fax
- May access protected health information (PHI) and other information only to the extent that is necessary to complete your job duties.
- Encouraged and expected to report, without the threat of retaliation, any concerns regarding Addiction Recovery Care Center/Odyssey, Inc.’s policies and procedures on persons served/clients privacy and any observed practices in violation of the policy to their supervisor.
- Protect the privacy of all persons served/clients information in accordance with Addiction Recovery Care Center/Odyssey, Inc.’s privacy policies, procedures and practices, as required by federal and state law, and in accordance with general principle of professionalism as a healthcare provider.
Key Experience and Education Needed:
- High School Diploma/GED-AA degree preferred.
- Working knowledge of computer usage with experience in a Windows environment.
- Self motivated
- Availability to work some evening shifts
- Good communication skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and stay on schedule
- Ability to enforce program requirements
- Problem solving abilities
