We are hiring a Landscape Maintenance Tech to our growing team!  The Landscape Maintenance Technician remains responsible for maintaining the  appearance of outdoor spaces in coordination and under superintendence of Second Chance Lawn Care  Supervisor. The occupant of this position will perform tasks such as Landscape  Design/Implementation, Hardscaping, trimming trees and bushes, planting flowers and shrubs, and  maintaining irrigation systems. This person will also operate and supervise others, run equipment and regularly utilize machinery such as lawnmowers, hedge trimmers, leaf blowers, tractors, etc. to maintain  clientele landscape.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete special projects as needed and assigned  
  • Provide the best service to all clients by satisfying all landscaping/hardscaping desires. 
  • Ability to create and communicate bids to customers, as well as, generate work orders all while  maintaining preset profit margins and hourly work rates. 
  • Caring for the grass, trees, plants, and hedges by mowing, pruning, or trimming them, as  needed. 
  • Watering and monitoring the growth of the greenery. 
  • Extracting and disposing of invasive plants and weeds. 
  • Designing and creating walkways that do not compromise the lawn or it
  • Clearing the area of trash and dumping this appropriately. 
  • Discouraging passersby from walking on the lawn and through the plants. 
  • Conducting regular duties in a manner that does not harm or disrupt the fauna or existing flora. 
  • Informing your supervisor when stock ought to be maintained, replenished, or replaced. 
  • Storing equipment and supplies in a safe manner.  
  • Complete all daily scheduled tasks. 
  • Participate in staff and state regulatory training when required 
  • Adhere to program policies and procedures while maintaining a professional code of ethics
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license 
  • Any other assigned duties as tasked 

Key Experience and Education Needed:

  • High School Diploma or GED required. 
  • Associates or Bachelors degree in Agrostology, Landscape Management/Maintenance or  Hardscaping preferred.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.  
  • Excellent communication skills to facilitate routine and accelerated work requests with external  contacts and manage internal expectations. 
  • Immense personal initiative is required to anticipate requests before they are received. 
  • A positive and professional team player attitude that works well under pressure and is flexible  and responsible. Attention to detail, strong work ethic and initiative are key. 
  • Requisite knowledge and understanding of internal recovery principles and recovery driven  service systems 
  • Principal knowledge of the physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual impact of alcohol and  other drugs on the individual and family  
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle crisis situations in a calm and supportive manner
  • Ability to exhibit professional and courteous behavior, consistent with the ARC mission  statement, when interacting with persons of varying backgrounds and education levels to create  a safe and healthy relationship with clients served
