We are hiring a Kitchen Aide for our growing team! The Kitchen Aide is responsible for managing food preparation and service in a residential facility. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic, team-oriented environment supporting individuals as they overcome substance abuse addiction. It is a multi-functioning team that works interdependently with the other departments in the organization. A desire to make a difference in the lives of others can be realized in this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise all kitchen staff and manage staff schedules
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with company, state, federal, and HIPAA rules and regulations
- Maintain a positive, professional attitude toward clients, staff, and volunteers
- Maintain a safe, clean working environment
- Maintain working knowledge of all kitchen equipment and tools
- Receive, store and safely maintain all food items
- Maintain inventory of food supplies and kitchen equipment
- Place orders to replenish stock when necessary
- Plan, prepare and clean up meals
- Assist and oversee clients with meal preparation and cleanup
- Purchase grocery items using client WIC benefits
- Knowledge of airborne and bloodborne pathogens (TB, HIV/AIDS, HB) and risk reduction methodologies, and the use of universal precautions.
Key Experience and Education Needed:
- High school graduate or GED
- Valid driver's license
- Self-motivated
- Availability to work some evening, overnight and/or weekend shifts
- Good communication and organization skills
- Ability to manage time efficiently, meet deadlines and stay on schedule
- Ability to read and adjust recipes as needed
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Ability to bend, squat, and stand for long periods of time.
- Problem-solving abilities

- Flexibility to adapt to schedule changes and assumption of responsibilities not delineated in the job description which are related to work being completed.

- Ability to exhibit professional and courteous behavior, consistent with the ARC mission statement, when interacting with persons of varying backgrounds and education levels to create a safe and healthy relationship with clients served
WORKPLACE ENVIRONMENT AND ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time
- Ability to read detailed health records
- Ability to lift and carry up to 10 lbs.
- Ability to operate computer and other equipment in the office
- Must have sufficient mobility to move around the office and the community
