Education

  • Bachelors degree in Arts or  faith-based degree
  • Substance abuse certification or experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • Current (two-years) of no felonies or substance abuse convictions.
  • Continued employment status will be contingent upon satisfactory completion of a criminal background investigation.
  • Must have two-years of continuous sobriety prior to hiring.

 

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Conducts both group and individual sessions with clients on the importance of continued absence from all mood-altering substances and spiritual support.
  • Member of the Treatment Team.
  • The Chaplain is expected to protect the privacy of all client information in accordance with federal and state law. 
  • Maintain a respectful relationship with clients ensuring appropriate boundaries.
  • Maintain confidentiality according to HIPPA requirements
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with staff and clients alike.
  • Ability to interact with a multi-disciplinary team to assist in facets of the recovery program relating to spiritual health.
  • Have the ability to communicate with on a case management level with other service providers.
  • Monitor residents activities, groups, chore lists, weekly phone calls, etc.
  • Maintain a safe environment  
  • Maintain a positive, professional attitude toward residents, staff and volunteers
  • Handle crisis situations in a calm supportive manner
  • Communications skills to relate to all levels of management and staff.
  • Self-motivated 
  • Application of Continuous Quality Improvement/Performance Improvement philosophy and ability to develop an organizational strategy.
  • Flexibility to adapt to schedule changes 
  • Must have the ability to interact with staff and clients in a professional manner.
  • Ability to coordinate and manage multiple tasks with attention to detail.
  • Attention to detail and organization a must.
  • Adhere to Confidentiality requirements as outlined in 42 CFR. 
  • Computer literate with experience in a Windows environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to prioritize work and work-related responsibilities
