  1. Nurse Practitioner will work with the Medical Director to provide a general health checkup for each of the residential clients via telehealth once per week. This process is assisted by the nurse at each center.
  2. See that any prescription needed by a resident, is called in to the designated pharmacy. 
  3. Knowledge and experience with psychiatric medications in both acute chronically mentally ill clients.
  4. In case of an emergency, the Nurse Practitioner shall refer client to a specialist or emergency room for further treatment.
  5. Must demonstrate clinical leadership
  6. Decision making ability
  7. Organization skills and effective communication skills.
  8. Nurse Practitioner will maintain general health checkups until issue is resolved, contained, or stabilized.
  9. Member of the Utilization Review team
  10. Assist and further mentor/train, utilization review staff on ABAM/ASAM best practices
  11. Be in involved in further development of new treatment programs.
  12. Call/email/chart for/to payors who may be denying level of care especially when medical necessity justifies or demands higher levels of care. Nurse Practitioner/Physicians Assistant involvement is the last option only when Utilization Review team is unsuccessful and has exhausted all levels of options.
  13. Ensures client confidentiality in compliance with 42CFR, Part 2.
  14. The Nurse Practitioner is expected to protect the privacy of all client information in accordance with Addiction Recovery Care, LLC/ Odyssey, Inc.’s privacy policies, procedures and practices, as required by federal and state law, and in accordance with general principle of professionalism as a health care provider.  Failure to comply with Addiction Recovery Care, LLC/ Odyssey, Inc.’s policies and procedures on client privacy may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.
  15. The Nurse Practioner may access protected health information (PHI) and other client information only to the extent that is necessary to complete your job duties.  The incumbent may only share such information with those who have a need to know specific client information you have in your possession to complete their job responsibilities related to treatment, payment or other operations.
  16. Maintain a respectful relationship with staff and clients.
  17. Maintain confidentiality at all times displaying a professional disposition towards fellow staff.
  18. Maintain a positive working relationship with staff and consumers alike

  23. Must be able to collaborate with professionals within the medical field, mental health providers and external agencies.
  24. Bring policy/personnel issues to supervision as they arise.
  25. Ability to interact with a multi-disciplinary team to assist in facets of the recovery program relating to physical health.
  26. Have the ability to communicate with the Case Manager and assist in ensuring the safety of the client.
  27. Must have two-years of continuous sobriety prior to hire, if a recovering alcoholic or drug addict and participate in a self-help program.
  28. Must have ability to interact with staff and clients in a professional manner.
  29. Adhere to Confidentiality requirements as outlined in 42 CFR, Part 2.
  30. Computer literate with experience in a Windows environment.
  31. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  32. Ability to prioritize work and work related responsibilitie
  33. Must have 3 years direct clinical experience working with clients with psychiatric clients.
